Pawan Kumar Chouhan
Pawan Kumar Chouhan (born December 16, 1976) is an Indian American Filmmaker, writer, and director, best known as the Founder and CEO of PRC Production Inc. He is recognized for his independent filmmaking style, creative storytelling, and passion for bringing authentic human experiences to the screen. His debut feature film, Highway905, released in 2024, is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Chouhan’s journey is historic—he is among the first Indian Punjabi filmmakers in Hollywood to simultaneously wear all four creative hats, as actor, writer, director, and producer, in his projects.
Early Life and Education
Pawan Kumar Chouhan was born in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from DAV College, Jalandhar, where he developed an early interest in cinema, storytelling, and creative expression. His early exposure to Punjabi culture and grassroots realities shaped his approach to filmmaking, focusing on realism and emotional depth.
Career
Pawan began his film journey in 2016 by producing and directing a series of short films depicting real-life struggles and human emotions.
Through consistent self-funding and independent execution, he built PRC Production Inc, a creative production house dedicated to authentic and socially relevant storytelling.
In 2024, he directed and produced his first feature film, “Highway905,” a suspense thriller that explores human psychology and moral dilemmas. The film was released in theatres and later made available on Amazon Prime Video, marking a major milestone in his career.
Following the success of Highway905, Pawan expanded his creative work into music and short films, releasing the Punjabi music video “Tu Rab Ta Nai” as part of the promotional campaign for his short film “5 Din Pyar De.”
He is currently developing multiple upcoming projects, including:
