Param Talwandi was born as Paramjit Singh in Village Talwandi Bhangwan, Punjab, India. He is the son of Surjit Singh and Kawaljit Kaur. His hobbies include photography, listening to music, and watching films, all of which inspired his ambition to pursue filmmaking as a career.

Param Talwandi completed his 10+2 education before pursuing professional filmmaking studies. He received specialized training in filmmaking from Virtual Eye Film Academy, located in Industrial Area Phase 7, Mohali, Punjab, where he gained practical knowledge in film direction, production techniques, cinematography, and visual storytelling.

Param Talwandi began his career in the Punjabi entertainment industry as an assistant director and later advanced to the role of associate director.
