Dr Rashmi Ved
Dr Rashmi Ved is an Indian Ayurvedic physician, cosmetologist, and entrepreneur. She is the Founder, Medical Director, and Head of Research and Development at Zita Ayurveda, an Ayurvedic skin, hair, and body care brand and clinic based in India. With over two decades of clinical experience, she is known for her work in Ayurvedic cosmetology, trichology, women’s health, and doctor-led dosha-specific Ayurvedic formulations.
Early Life
Dr Rashmi Ved was born on 6 August 1973 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She developed an early interest in traditional Indian medicine and holistic healthcare, which influenced her decision to pursue Ayurveda as a medical profession.
Education
Dr Rashmi Ved completed her Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery from institutions affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, and Yerala Medical Trust Ayurved College, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. She completed her graduation during 1996–1997.
In addition to her medical education, she undertook advanced clinical training in Ayurvedic Cosmetology and Trichology in Mumbai, with a focus on skin and hair disorders and their Ayurvedic management.
Medical Career
Dr Rashmi Ved began her professional medical practice in 1999. Over the years, she has specialized in Ayurvedic skin care, hair care, body therapies, women’s health, and chronic lifestyle-related conditions.
She has been professionally associated with major hospitals in Mumbai, including King Edward Memorial Hospital, Wadia Hospital, and Kothari Hospital.
Her clinical approach integrates classical Ayurvedic diagnostic methods such as Nadi Parikshan along with skin and scalp analysis, Panchakarma therapies, and detoxification-based rejuvenation treatments. Over the course of her career, she has reportedly treated more than 100,000 patients using long-term, root-cause-based Ayurvedic care.
Zita Ayurveda
Founding and Vision
In 2022, Dr Rashmi Ved founded Zita Ayurveda after observing a growing gap between classical Ayurvedic principles and their commercial application in the modern wellness market. She noted that many products marketed as Ayurvedic relied on synthetic ingredients and short-term cosmetic outcomes rather than therapeutic healing.
Zita Ayurveda was established to provide doctor-led, clinically guided, and dosha-specific Ayurvedic solutions, combining traditional Rasayana principles with contemporary quality standards.
Role and Operations
At Zita Ayurveda, Dr Rashmi Ved serves as the Medical Director and Head of Research and Development. She oversees product formulation, clinical protocols, and treatment methodologies.
Zita Ayurveda operates as both an Ayurvedic product brand and a clinic-based practice. The organization runs a dedicated Hair and Skin Care Clinic in Pune and has announced plans to expand its clinical presence to major metropolitan cities across India.
Teaching and Professional Contributions
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Rashmi Ved has contributed to Ayurvedic education and professional training. She has conducted workshops in medical colleges on Ayurvedic cosmetic formulation and trained Ayurvedic doctors in therapeutic cosmetic manufacturing.
She has been associated with Keshayurveda for lecture series and training programs and has completed more than 84 batches of Ayurvedic product-making programs. She has also been recognized in Pune for her contributions to Ayurvedic hair and skin care.
