Early Life
Dr. Sheikh Jeelani was born on 24 October 1986 in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. Raised in a humble and hardworking family, he was deeply inspired by his mother, Asha, who worked tirelessly to provide him with a quality education. She spun cotton on the wheel to support his schooling, standing outside the school gates to hear his voice as he recited verses of the Holy Quran during morning assemblies. Her blessings and dedication became the foundation for his journey of compassion and purpose.
Education
After completing his schooling in Srinagar, Dr. Jeelani pursued a degree in Science from Kashmir University. Despite financial challenges, he excelled academically and developed a deep interest in medicine and healing.
In 2004, at the age of 18, he represented Jammu and Kashmir at an International Committee of Red Cross camp held in Tamil Nadu, where he received the Best Student Award among 240 participants from 23 Indian states. He was honored by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and received a certificate of appreciation from the then President of India.
He continued his educational journey by obtaining:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science – Kashmir University
- BNYS (Bachelor in Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences) – National Institute of Health Science and Research, New Delhi
- Diploma in Food Science and Technology – Doaba Group of Colleges, Punjab (University Topper, 2021)
His education combined science, Ayurveda, and nutrition—shaping his holistic approach to health and healing.
Career Journey
Facing unemployment after graduation, Dr. Jeelani began working as a Medical Representative for Blue Star Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., a Delhi-based Ayurveda pharmaceutical company. Over three years, he mastered sales, herbal pharmacology, and traditional Ayurvedic formulations. These experiences inspired him to establish his own enterprise focused on indigenous healthcare.
Founding of Doctor Thangs Herbaceuticals
In 2011, at the age of 25, he founded Doctor Thangs Herbaceuticals, headquartered in Jammu & Kashmir. His mission was to merge traditional Indian healing systems—Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Nutraceuticals—with scientific innovation and modern manufacturing practices.
The company was officially launched on 28 March 2011, marking the beginning of a revolutionary herbal brand from the valley of Kashmir. His philosophy: “Protecting and nurturing life naturally — the natural way.”
