Dr. Saba Usmani is an Indian dental surgeon and oral cancer specialist based in New Delhi. Known for her dedication to public health, she has over 16 years of experience in dental surgery, oral pathology, and community outreach, focusing on promoting oral hygiene and preventing oral cancer among underserved communities.

Early Life

Dr. Saba Usmani was born on 16 September 1980 in Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh. Inspired by her parents—an orthopaedic surgeon father and a gynaecologist mother—she developed an early passion for healthcare and social service. She draws inspiration from the universal teachings of all religions, which emphasize compassion and service to the needy.

Career

Dr. Usmani began her journey serving underserved communities as a consulting dentist with Navshrishṭi NGO at Hakeem Abdul Hameed Centenary Hospital (Majeedia Hospital), Jamia Hamdard University. Currently, she is associated with multiple clinics and charitable organizations, including Shifa Dental Clinic, Sant Guru Ravidas Charitable Center, Navshrishṭi NGO, Imam Zainul Abdeen Charitable Trust, and presently works as a consultant dental surgeon at Cribs Hospital, Sangam Vihar, Hamdard Nagar, New Delhi.

She has attended to over 2 lakh patients, including more than 1 lakh individuals from slum areas. She has organized around 600 dental camps and conducted awareness programs in over 80 schools, educating people about oral hygiene and the dangers of tobacco products like gutka and paan. Her camps provide free check-ups, medicines, and essential supplies.

She also lectures BDS students and has taught at Career Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences and Jamia Hamdard University as an Assistant Professor in Pathology and Microbiology.
