He presented his candidature from the 298 Katra Bazar (Karnalganj) Assembly constituency in the 2017 and 2022 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections. However, the party did not nominate him and instead gave the ticket to another candidate.

Following this, he left the BJP and joined the Samajwadi Party. Recognizing his dedication and capabilities, the party appointed him as Pradesh Sachiv (State Secretary).
