Nironjan Kurmi is a prominent Indian entrepreneur and fintech innovator from Assam. He is the founder, CEO, and director of Nkpays Private Limited and Nkpays Recharge Private Limited, known for developing the Nkpays Lite App and Nkpays Exchange, offering mobile recharge, bill payments, and financial technology services nationwide.

Early Life and Education

Born in Assam, Nironjan Kurmi faced financial hardships in his early life. Son of Loknath Kurmi, a driver, he attended a Government LP School and completed his HSLC from a Government High School. He finished higher secondary education at Pragjyotika Junior College, Titabar, and graduated from Dibrugarh University in 2013. Parallel to his studies, he worked various part-time jobs including vegetable selling, tea garden labor, data entry, and telecom office assistance. He also holds a PGDCA and ITI certification in Diesel Pump Mechanic.

Career

Starting as a small-scale mobile recharge provider offering door-to-door services, Nironjan launched his own software platform without an office setup. In 2014, he established N.K. Enterprise as a proprietorship. By 2020, Nkpays Private Limited was registered and emerged as a Pan-India fintech service provider.

Today, Nkpays offers mobile recharge, bill payments, LIC premium payments, AEPS, micro ATM, DMT services, and recharge APIs across India. Nkpays Lite App serves over 15,000 retail stores, while Nkpays Exchange provides API services to more than 2,000 companies nationwide.

Achievements

  • National Business Award 2025 recipient, presented by Assamese singer Zubeen Garg
  • Inaugurated the third corporate office in Titabar, Assam in 2025 by MLA Bhaskar Jyoti Baruah
  • Built a leading fintech brand recognized throughout India

Personal Life

Married to Saroti Urang from Digboi, Tinsukia District, on 24 November 2020. The couple has a son, Nesansh Kurmi, born on 24 November 2022.
