Nironjan Kurmi
Nironjan Kurmi (born 24 August 1990) is an Indian entrepreneur and fintech innovator from Assam. He is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and Director of Nkpays Private Limited and Nkpays Recharge Private Limited, companies that developed the Nkpays Lite App and Nkpays Exchange, offering mobile recharges, bill payments, and financial technology services across India.
Early Life and Education
Nironjan was born in Titabor, Assam, where he faced financial challenges in his early life. He completed his higher secondary education in Titabor and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dibrugarh University in 2013. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) and an ITI certification. To support his studies, Nironjan worked part-time in roles such as data entry operator and telecom office assistant.
Career
After completing his degree, Nironjan began as a small-scale mobile recharge provider in Titabor and Jorhat, offering door-to-door services. In 2013, he launched his own software platform, and in 2014, he founded N.K. Enterprises as a proprietorship. In 2020, he registered Nkpays Private Limited, which expanded as a fintech service provider in India. The company offers mobile recharges, bill payments, LIC premium payments, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AEPS), micro-ATM services, domestic money transfers, and recharge APIs. • The Nkpays Lite app serves over 15,000 retail stores. • Nkpays Exchange provides API services to more than 2,000 companies nationwide. In 2025, the company launched exchange.nkpays.in, An AI-powered B2B platform for mobile/DTH recharges and digital vouchers, offering API-based integrations for businesses.
Achievements
- Recipient of the National Business Award 2025, presented by Reseal.in at Guwahati, Assam.
- Inaugurated the corporate office of Nkpays at Titabor, Assam, in the presence of local MLA and dignitaries.

Personal Life
Nironjan married Saroti Urang of Digboi, Tinsukia District, on 24 November 2020. Urang serves as the Managing Director of Nkpays. The couple has a son, Nesansh Kurmi, born on 24 November 2022. His father, Loknath Kurmi, runs a retail shop in Titabor and is involved in Nkpays, while his mother, Loxmi Kurmi, is a homemaker. The family resides in Titabor, Assam.
