He is known for his contributions to education and literacy through his ventures Surya Pustak Bhandar and Suryashree Trinity School, with a strong focus on holistic, value-based, and skill-oriented learning.
Early Life and Background
Shankar Prasad Ratha was born and raised in Bargarh, Odisha, in a humble and value-oriented family. He completed his schooling at Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, Bargarh, where he developed a strong foundation in discipline, culture, and character. Coming from an Odia-medium educational background, he represents the journey of a common student with uncommon dreams.
From an early age, he demonstrated a high-thinking mindset and a strong desire to contribute meaningfully to society. He observed that many individuals struggle not due to lack of ability, but due to limited thinking. This realization shaped his long-term purpose of contributing to mindset development through education, awareness, and life coaching.
He is the son of Late Gopinath Ratha and Puspanjali Ratha and has two younger siblings. In 2019, he married Chinmayee Ratha and currently lives with his mother, spouse, and two children, maintaining a balance between family values and professional responsibilities.
In 2021, during a crucial phase of his career, he lost his father due to COVID-19. This personal tragedy placed immense emotional and familial responsibility upon him. Through resilience and determination, he rebuilt himself and assumed leadership of his family. Transforming personal loss into purpose, he fulfilled his father’s long-cherished dream by founding Suryashree Trinity School, an institution envisioned to serve society through holistic, value-based, and future-ready education.
Career
Shankar Prasad Ratha began his entrepreneurial journey with the aim of improving access to quality educational resources. He founded Surya Pustak Bhandar, a bookstore providing school and college textbooks, competitive examination materials, stationery, and academic support to students, teachers, and institutions.
He later established Suryashree Trinity School, focusing on balanced academic excellence combined with personality development, life skills, cultural values, and social responsibility.
Alongside his ventures, he is also active as a life coach and mentor, guiding students, parents, and professionals in mindset development, confidence building, leadership, and goal orientation.
