Dr Pandit Amarnath Mishra is an Indian Sanatan dharam professional based in Lucknow. He is known for his participation in news debates and his contribution to the promotion of Rashtra dharam and Sanatan culture.

Early Life

Dr Amarnath Mishra was born in 1963 in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. He belongs to a Kanyakubj Brahmin family of Katyayan Gotra. His family deity is Shri Gargy Maa. His ancestral roots trace back to Mallawan village in Hardoi district.

He comes from a reputed family with members serving the nation in prestigious positions such as IAS and IPS officers. He represents the fourth generation of his family dedicated to national service.

He was raised in a culturally rich and disciplined environment. He was married to Miss Madhuri, daughter of Sukala family of Bhardwaj Gotra, who is now known as Shrimati Madhuri Mishra. Among his family members is Mangalam Mishra, who completed primary education at Kalvin Taluqedar School and pursued higher education in law from Lucknow University.

Education

Dr Pandit Amarnath Mishra received his primary education from Dela House and City Montessori School, Lucknow. He completed his higher education from KKC Degree College.

He conducted research in Karma Kand from Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga Sanskrit University, Madhya Pradesh, for which he was awarded a gold medal. He has also studied Astrology and Vastu Shastra.

Career

Dr Pandit Amarnath Mishra has been actively involved in promoting Sanatan dharam and participating in national-level discussions and news debates.

Inspired by the ideology that “Brahmin is the heart of the nation and a self-reliant nationalist,” he joined the Shri Ram Janmbhumi movement in 1986.

For the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Mahant Ram Chandra Paramhans of Digambar Akhada guided him. He worked closely with prominent leaders such as Mahant Awaidyanath, Ashok Singhal, Praveen Togadia, Acharya Giriraj Kishore, and various Shankaracharyas and spiritual leaders including Swami Nishchalanand, Swami Jain Saraswati, Madhvacharya Uduppi, Swami Vishveshtheerth, and others.

Under the blessings of Mahamandaleshwar Vidyanand, Swami Kailashanand, Swami Arjunpuri, and Akhada Parishad President Swami Narendra Giri, he contributed to strengthening Sanatan culture and traditions.

He played a strategic role in coordinating between religious and political leaders to strengthen the Ram Janmbhumi movement. Meetings were organized with leaders such as L.K. Advani, Uma Bharti, Govindacharya, Vinay Katiyar, Dr Subramanian Swamy, Rajnath Singh, Kalyan Singh, Murli Manohar Joshi, and others.

In 2006, despite strong opposition from political leadership, he played a key role in organizing the Ram Janmbhumi parikrama led by Dwarika Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand in Ayodhya, with participation from RSS, VHP, Bajrang Dal, and BJP members.

He also organized major religious and social programs including events with Shri Shri Ravishankar and Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray in Ayodhya.

He facilitated discussions among stakeholders after Supreme Court directions for dialogue on the Ram Janmbhumi issue, organizing meetings at his residence and contributing to continued engagement among religious leaders.
