Dr. Baburajendra B. Naik is an Indian diabetologist, medical researcher, and healthcare administrator. He is the CMD and Chief Diabetologist of Shri Tulasigirish Diabetes Hospital and Diabetes Research Foundation based in Bagalkot, Karnataka. He is recognized for his contributions to preventive diabetology, clinical research, and diabetes education across India.

Early Life

Dr. Naik was born on 21 July 1977 in Karnataka, India. He completed his schooling in Bagalkot and developed an early interest in medical science, particularly chronic disease management and public health.

Medical Career

Dr. Naik began his medical career with internships at District Hospital Belgaum and CSI Mission Hospital Hassan. He later trained at M.V. Hospital for Diabetes and Diabetes Research Centre, Chennai, a WHO Collaborating Centre, under Prof. A. Ramachandran.

He served internationally as Registrar in Diabetology at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Republic of Maldives. Since 2006, he has been associated with Shri Tulasigirish Diabetes Hospital, serving as Chief Diabetologist and CMD from 2009 onwards.

The hospital is one of the largest dedicated diabetes hospitals in India, with 50 inpatient beds and advanced intensive diabetes care units.
