Adv. Pandurang Jyotiba Thorve is a distinguished Indian lawyer, agriculturist, and social worker from Pune, Maharashtra. He currently serves as a Trustee of Shri Martand Dev Sansthan, Jejuri, and is the Former President of the Pune Bar Association (2022–2023). He also holds the position of Secretary – Jagatguru Vichar Manch, Pune.

Early Life and Education

Born in Pune, Maharashtra, Adv. Thorve completed his primary education at Zilla Parishad School, Balewadi and secondary education at University High School, Pune. He completed his higher secondary education at Baburaoji Gholap College, Sangvi, followed by a Bachelor of Socio-Legal Sciences (BSL) and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Symbiosis Law College, Pune.

His early inspiration came from observing the social and economic challenges around him, which instilled in him a deep sense of justice and public service.

Inauguration of the New Pune Bar Association Office

During his tenure as President (2022–2023), Adv. Thorve played a pivotal role in the development and inauguration of the new Pune Bar Association Office. The inauguration was conducted by Hon’ble Justice P. S. Narasimha, Judge, Supreme Court of India, in a grand ceremony attended by members of the judiciary and senior legal professionals.

This milestone initiative provided a modern office equipped with advanced facilities, symbolizing unity and progress within the Pune legal fraternity.

Temple and Fort Ownership – 51-Year Property Card Resolution

As Trustee of the Shri Martand Dev Sansthan, Jejuri, Adv. Thorve successfully resolved a 51-year-long property card dispute concerning the temple and Gadkot (fort area).

Since 1973, 23 acres and 19 gunthas of temple land were missing from official records. Through persistent follow-ups, documentary evidence, and coordination with:

  • The Office of the Charity Commissioner,
  • Sub-Divisional and District Revenue Authorities,
  • The Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent of Purandar,

he ensured the rightful restoration of ownership in the name of the Sansthan in 2024. This monumental achievement secured the temple’s heritage and spiritual legacy for future generations.

  • Organized a joint legal conference with the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa featuring Justices Bhushan Gavai, P.B. Varale, and Tawde.
