Sachin Usha Vilas Joshi is an Indian education activist, social innovator, author, and educational reformer. He is the Founder Director of Espalier Experimental School and Espalier Heritage School and the founder of Education on Wheels, India’s first mobile school initiative. He is widely recognized for pioneering experiential learning models and inclusive education reforms.

Sachin Joshi is the Founder Director of Espalier Experimental School and Espalier Heritage School, institutions known for experiential, research-based, and student-centric education. Education on Wheels

He is the Founder and Director of Education on Wheels, India’s first mobile school, which has successfully mainstreamed over 17,000 underprivileged children into formal education. The initiative operates through specially designed buses and has been recorded in the Limca Book of Records.

National and International Engagement

Sachin Joshi is the first Indian educationist to have delivered a lecture on **Education and Democracy in front of the European Council and the European Parliament**, highlighting the role of education in strengthening democratic societies.

He currently works as a Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 Accelerator for the United Nations, contributing toward the promotion of quality education across nations.

He is a member of the State Education Steering Committee, the apex authority responsible for the implementation of the National Education Policy at the state level.

During his tenure on the Nashik Municipal Corporation Smart School Committee, he played a key role in transforming 80 government schools into smart schools.

The Tribal Development Corporation appointed him as the head of the construction committee for building 61 new tribal schools, where he guided the development of creative, inclusive, and student-friendly learning environments.

Sachin Joshi is the author of three books, including:

Social Innovation and Campaigns

To promote gender equality, Sachin Joshi included his mother’s name in his full name and made it mandatory for all Espalier School students to do the same. This initiative has been active for over 13 years and later inspired government legislation mandating the inclusion of the mother’s name in official records.

His environmental campaign, Espalier Plastic Band, focuses on reducing plastic usage through the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle and has been registered in the Asia Book of Records.

AI and Future Education

Sachin Joshi recently launched AI on Wheels, India’s first AI Learning Bus. This mobile laboratory introduces artificial intelligence tools to Zilla Parishad school students and supports struggling learners through accessible AI-based education. The initiative has received recognition from AI experts globally.

He actively studies artificial intelligence and conducts research on the integration of AI in education systems.

Awards and Recognition

Espalier Heritage School received the First Rank Best School Award along with a grant of ₹51 lakhs from the Government of Maharashtra, presented by the Honorable Chief Minister.

Sachin Joshi and his wife, Dr. Prajakta Joshi, received the Social Entrepreneurship Award from Tally Software Company for their contribution to education and social innovation in India.

Personal Life

Dr. Prajakta Joshi, his wife, is the Chairperson of Espalier Experimental School and Espalier Heritage School and oversees academic planning. Together, they continue to work toward inclusive, innovative, and socially responsible education.

Sachin Joshi regularly guides students and parents on research-based education and parenting through his YouTube channel, Sach Ki Pathshala.
