Dr Roopa Shetty was born on 19 April 1978 in Chikmagalur, Karnataka, India. From a young age, she showed an interest in law and public affairs, which motivated her to pursue legal education and later contribute to the field of property and corporate law.

Dr Roopa Shetty began her legal career as a Legal Advisor at NITTE Education Trust (2002–2004), where she gained practical experience in institutional and educational legal affairs. She then joined Group SJR as Manager–Legal (2004–2009), where she handled drafting, title verification, documentation, and regulatory compliance. Later, she served as Senior Manager – Legal at Ozone Group in 2009, managing large-scale property and real estate legal projects.
In April 2003, she founded Lex Situs, a premier law firm headquartered in Bengaluru. As the Founder and Senior Advocate, she has led the firm for more than two decades, handling property, corporate, and commercial law matters.
