Ambika Lal Azad is a Retired Senior Administrative Officer of PWD Uttarakhand. He was born on 02 February 1965 and is a graduate by education. Ambika Lal Azad is recognized for his dedicated service in the Public Works Department of Uttarakhand.

Early Life

Ambika Lal Azad was born on 02 February 1965 in a farmer’s family in Village Dang, Patti Bhandarsyun, District Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, India. He is the son of Bhanumati and Sainsa Prasad. Along with his studies, he also helped his parents in household and agricultural work.

From childhood, he closely witnessed injustice and exploitation in society caused by social evils and harmful practices. This experience inspired him to develop an interest in social service from an early age.

Career

Ambika Lal Azad began his professional career in 1983 with temporary service at the District Court Uttarkashi. Later, in 1995, he was appointed to the Public Works Department (PWD).

During his tenure in the Public Works Department, he worked with dedication and sincerity and eventually retired from the position of Senior Administrative Officer on 28 February 2025.

During his service period, he was honored for his commitment and hard work with appreciation certificates and monetary awards by the Chief Engineers of Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh) and Dehradun (Uttarakhand).

Social Work

Along with his professional responsibilities, Ambika Lal Azad remained actively involved in social service activities. He has worked individually as well as in collaboration with various social organizations to help needy, distressed, and underprivileged people.

Even after his retirement, he continues to work as a Social Activist against social injustice and exploitation in society. He has stated his commitment to continue working for social causes throughout his life.

From time to time, he has worked with several social organizations. Currently, he serves as the State President of BAMCEF in Uttarakhand.
