Rohin Das (born 28 May 1990) is an Indian playback singer, composer, and music producer. He is known for his diverse vocal style and compositions that blend traditional Indian music with modern genres. Since beginning his professional career in 2007, he has performed across genres including filmi, Sufi, rock, pop, folk, EDM, R'n'B, ghazals, qawwali, and bhajans. He has collaborated with major Indian music labels such as Zee Music Company, Tips, Saregama India, and Shemaroo.

Early Life

Rohin Das was born on 28 May 1990 in Chandil, Jharkhand, to Kajal Das, a Bengali father, and Chaina Das, a Bengali Hindu mother. He began his music training at a very young age at home, inspired by his musically inclined family. His maternal aunt was trained in Indian classical music, his maternal grandfather was a singer, his maternal uncle played the harmonium, and his mother also sang.

He studied at S.S. High School and later at S.B. College, affiliated with a university in Jharkhand. Although he described himself as a decent student, his focus was always on music, and his parents encouraged his professional training. He learned Indian classical music under Tapan Das and was trained in guitar by Ganesh Karmakar. Tapan Das and Prasad Das also taught him Rabindra Sangeet and Bengali pop music. By the age of three, he was already training under Chandrakant M. Aapte.

Growing up, Rohin Das was influenced by legendary musicians such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, Ustad Rashid Khan, Zakir Hussain, and Anand Chatterjee. He was also inspired by popular playback singers including Kishore Kumar, Hemant Kumar, and Manna Dey, as well as modern Bengali music.
