Human Rights Council of India (Hindi: भारतीय मानवाधिकार परिषद) is a national, non-governmental, non-political, and secular organization dedicated to the promotion, protection, and awareness of human rights and social justice in India. Established in 2012, the organization works across multiple states to address issues related to human dignity, equality, and access to justice.

History and Establishment

The Human Rights Council of India was established in 2012 with the objective of promoting human rights awareness and providing support mechanisms for individuals affected by injustice and social exploitation. The organization was founded by Haji Shaikh, who serves as its Founder and National President.

Nature and Scope

HRCI operates as a non-political and secular organization. It does not function as a government authority or judicial body but works as a civil society platform providing awareness, guidance, and social intervention related to human rights issues.

Operations and Reach

The organization is actively operational in 28 states across India and has built a network of approximately 75,000 members and volunteers. Through its initiatives, HRCI has assisted more than 20,000 individuals, with a focus on women, children, senior citizens, and marginalized communities.
