Jatinder Soni is an Indian social activist and centurion blood donor based in Jalandhar, Punjab, known for his exceptional contribution to voluntary blood donation and public health awareness. He is widely referred to as Blood Man, Blood King, Chalta Firta Blood Bank, and Man with Golden Arms due to his lifelong dedication to saving lives through blood donation.

Early Life

Jatinder Soni was born on 18 January 1972 in Delhi Cantt., India. He later settled in Jalandhar, Punjab, where he developed a strong commitment to social service and humanitarian causes. His motivation for blood donation began in 1990 following a personal family medical emergency that exposed him to the urgent need for voluntary donors.

Career

Jatinder Soni serves in the judicial department as Reader Grade I and has been attached to the courts of District and Sessions Judges in Jalandhar. Alongside his professional responsibilities, he has remained deeply involved in social service activities.

He is associated with the Red Cross Society, Punjab, where he holds the position of Patron. He has also been actively involved with multiple voluntary organizations and blood donor associations at district, state, and national levels.

Blood Donation and Social Service

Jatinder Soni donated blood for the first time in 1990 at the Military Hospital in Jalandhar. Since then, he has committed himself to donating blood whenever required and to motivating others to do the same. From 1990 onwards, he has donated blood and blood components more than 160 times, making him one of India’s centurion blood donors.

Through his efforts, thousands of voluntary donors have been mobilized across Punjab and other parts of India. He has inspired advocates, court staff, colleagues, students, and community members to participate in blood donation drives. He has also played a significant role in organizing large-scale blood donation camps, including international collaboration initiatives.

In addition to blood donation, his social service activities include financial assistance for underprivileged families, educational support for girls through payment of school fees and learning materials, and medical assistance for patients requiring urgent care. He has also been actively involved in supporting children affected by thalassemia through blood donation camps and medical aid.

Jatinder Soni has received numerous awards and recognitions for his contribution to humanitarian service, including honors from state authorities, health departments, judicial bodies, and social organizations.

In July 2024, he was honored by the Global Book of Excellence for his outstanding blood donation efforts at a ceremony held in Mumbai. He has also been recognized by international record organizations for his achievements in voluntary blood donation.
