Patal Kumar Murasing is an Indian academic, researcher, and Assistant Professor in Education at Adwaita Malla Barman Smriti Mahavidyalay, Amarpur, Tripura. His research explores career psychology, inclusive education, pedagogy, and folk literature. With a career spanning more than two decades in teaching and academia, he is recognized for his contributions to bridging theory, policy, and practice in Indian education.

Early Life and Education

Patal Kumar Murasing was born on 2 October 1973 in Melaghar, Tripura, India, to Shyam Kumar Murasing and Atul Kanya Murasing. He completed his schooling under the Tripura Board of Secondary Education, passing matriculation in 1992 and higher secondary in 1994. He pursued higher education at Tripura University, graduating with Honours in 1997 and completing a Post-Graduation in Education in 2004. In 2012, he earned an M. Phil. in Education from Madurai Kamaraj University. Murasing also cleared the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the North-East and the National Eligibility Test (NET) in 2012.

Career

Murasing began his professional journey as a Post Graduate Teacher in 1999, working for over 15 years until 2014. During this period, he observed widespread gaps in career awareness among senior secondary students, which motivated him to explore the field of career psychology.

In 2014, he joined Adwaita Malla Barman Smriti Mahavidyalay, Amarpur, as an Assistant Professor in Education. His work involves teaching, research, and guiding students while focusing on improving educational practices in rural and marginalized communities.

Research and Contributions

Murasing’s research interests lie in education, psychology, and career studies. He has published systematic reviews and conceptual papers on topics such as:

  • Personality, self-efficacy, and outcome expectations in career decision-making
  • Inclusive education and the challenges of implementation
  • Folk literature and its pedagogical applications
  • Evolution of career psychology in India

His current academic work includes systematic reviews using PRISMA methodology and bibliometric analysis with tools like Rayyan and VOSviewer.

Personal Life

Murasing is married to Nandita Jamatia, and they have one child, Peersajak C. Murasing.
