Dr Asha Lal (HC)
Dr. Asha Lal (born 23 June 1969 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand) is an Indian former politician and social activist recognized for her long-standing contributions to women empowerment, social justice, and human rights. She is the daughter of freedom fighter and social reformer Shri Joga Ram Arya, who dedicated his entire life to uplifting the underprivileged. Inspired by his values, Dr. Lal devoted her career to advocating equality, empowerment, and justice for marginalized communities.
Early Life and Education
Asha Lal was born on 23 June 1969 in Almora, Uttarakhand, to Shri Joga Ram Arya, a freedom fighter and social reformer. His dedication to social justice and community upliftment deeply influenced her vision and commitment to public service.
She pursued higher education in political science, completing her Master of Arts (M.A.) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) from Kumaon University, Nainital. She further obtained a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from Garhwal University, Srinagar. Her academic foundation in political science and teaching shaped her leadership journey.
