History
Startek Chemicals Limited was founded in 2012 by Rahul Dayal and was formerly known as Star Chemicals. The company initially began as a trading firm dealing in agrochemical products and focused on the marketing and distribution of crop protection chemicals in the Indian agricultural market.
In 2015, the company applied for product registration with the Central Insecticides Board of India to develop and market its own agrochemical formulations. In 2017, it received licenses for its first 56 agrochemical products, marking the beginning of its independent product portfolio.
In 2018, Startek Chemicals established a manufacturing facility in Gujarat to support large-scale production of agrochemical formulations. In 2019, the company began its first commercial production and supply of crop protection formulations.
In 2020, the company expanded internationally by opening an overseas office in Hong Kong. In 2021, it incorporated operations in Kenya to strengthen its presence in international agricultural markets. In 2022, the company further expanded by registering operations in Tanzania and establishing partnerships in Egypt.
