Brijesh Chandra Srivastava is an Indian civil engineer, retired General Manager at RITES, and founder of BridgeMind Consulting. He is known for his extensive career in civil engineering and his contributions as an author and educator in the field.
Early Life
Brijesh Chandra Srivastava was born on March 2, 1963, in the village of Asanheri, located in the Basti district of Uttar Pradesh, India. Raised in an environment that valued perseverance and integrity, his early years in rural Uttar Pradesh laid the foundation for his future contributions to national infrastructure. He often credits his disciplined upbringing and the core values instilled by his parents as the primary drivers of his professional resilience.
Education
Srivastava’s academic journey is marked by a progression through prestigious institutions in Northern India, culminating in top-tier engineering credentials.
Primary and Secondary Schooling
He began his formal education at Mehi Lal Adarsh Vidyalaya in Asanhera, a village near Asanheri. For his higher secondary studies, he moved to the regional educational hub of Gorakhpur, where he attended DAV Inter College. His performance at DAV Inter College was instrumental in securing his placement at one of the nation's most elite technical universities.
Higher Education at IIT Roorkee
Srivastava pursued his professional engineering training at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee (formerly the University of Roorkee). He specialized in Civil Engineering, earning both his:
- Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.)
- Master of Engineering (M.E.)
During his tenure at IIT Roorkee, he was recognized as a Senior Research Fellow (1987–1988), where he conducted advanced research on "Low-Cost Waste Water Treatment Methods using Aerobic Ponds." This period of academic rigor provided the technical expertise required for his subsequent 36-year career in the railway and infrastructure sectors.
Career
Brijesh Chandra Srivastava served as a General Manager at RITES before founding BridgeMind Consulting. He has authored the book "From Awareness To Mastery" and is currently authoring a series of books focused on the growth of civil engineers in India. He is also the creator and curator of the YouTube channel "Cerebral Pursuits" (@cerebralpursuits), where he shares insights related to civil engineering and professional development.
He has a strong passion for teaching, mentoring, and guiding young professionals and civil engineers through his YouTube channel "Cerebral Pursuits" and the Cerebral Pursuits app.
He is also actively involved in supporting junior students by building strong IIT foundation concepts through the Cerebral Pursuits app on Google Play Store.
Srivastava has completed several courses and certifications from top tier institutes such as ESCI, IRICEN, IITs and IIMs.
