Ambika Lal Azad is a retired Senior Administrative Officer of the Public Works Department (PWD), Uttarakhand, and a social activist known for his dedicated service and contribution to society.

Early Life

Ambika Lal Azad was born on 02 February 1965 in a farmer’s family in Village Dang, Patti Bhandarsyun, District Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, India. He is the son of Bhanumati and Sainsa Prasad.

Along with his education, he actively supported his parents in household and agricultural work. From an early age, he closely observed social injustice, exploitation, and harmful social practices, which inspired him to take an interest in social service.

Education

Ambika Lal Azad completed his graduation.

Career

Ambika Lal Azad began his professional journey in 1983 with temporary service at the District Court Uttarkashi. In 1995, he was appointed to the Public Works Department (PWD), where he served with dedication and sincerity.

He retired on 28 February 2025 from the position of Senior Administrative Officer.

During his service tenure, he was honored for his commitment and hard work with appreciation certificates and monetary awards from the Chief Engineers of Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh) and Dehradun (Uttarakhand).

Social Work

Alongside his professional responsibilities, Ambika Lal Azad actively engaged in social service activities. He worked both individually and in collaboration with various social organizations to support needy, distressed, and underprivileged people.

After retirement, he continues to work as a social activist against social injustice and exploitation. He remains committed to serving society throughout his life.

He has been associated with multiple social organizations over time and is currently serving as the State President of BAMCEF in Uttarakhand.
