Gaurav Tyagi was born in Bulandshahr into a family of lawyers. His great grandfather, Nathu Ram Tyagi, served as a Magistrate during the British period and practiced law in Jaunchana Village. The family is locally known as the Deputy Saheb Family. His grandfather, Hoti Lal Tyagi, studied law under the guidance of Mahamana Madan Mohan Malviya Ji and was a senior advocate in Bulandshahr Court. His father was also a renowned advocate specializing in revenue and civil court practice in Bulandshahr.

Gaurav Tyagi holds an LLB and an LLM degree specializing in Business Laws.
Career
Gaurav Tyagi has worked with many senior advocates, gaining expertise in the Transfer of Property Act, Rent Control Act, Code of Civil Procedure, and Land Acquisition cases. He joined the chamber of Senior Advocate Sanjay Parikh at the Supreme Court of India. Later, he served as a Law Officer at the Bank of Maharashtra, handling recovery laws including the Sarfaesi Act, DRT cases, Insolvency Laws, and the Banking Regulation Act. He also worked as Deputy Zonal Manager for two zones in the bank, gaining practical banking experience. Eventually, he was elevated to Chief Law Officer, where he advised top management on policy governance and legal matters.
