Abdul Sattar, also known as Munna Bhai, is an Indian politician from Gopalganj, Bihar. He currently serves as the State General Secretary of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). Previously, he was the District President of the Minority Cell in Gopalganj, a position he held from 2006 to 2020.
Early Life
Abdul Sattar was born on 18 January 1972 in Gopalganj, Bihar to Late Ali Raja. He belongs to the Sheikh Muslim community. He completed his schooling at High School Barauli, Gopalganj, and later pursued higher studies at JP University.

Political Career
Abdul Sattar has been actively involved in politics for more than two decades. He served as District President of the Minority Cell in Gopalganj for five consecutive terms. In this role, he organized several major programs and campaigns, including the 2010 Chakka Jam and the 2015 Parivartan Rally.
Since becoming State General Secretary of the Rashtriya Janata Dal in Bihar, he has been engaged in strengthening the organization, especially in the Barauli Vidhan Sabha constituency. He set up a permanent Minority Cell office in Gopalganj city at his own expense.
Abdul Sattar has closely worked under the guidance of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav and is recognized for his strong grassroots support.
Flood Relief Work
Gopalganj district faces frequent flooding. Abdul Sattar organized relief work across seven blocks, distributing food packets, clothes, and essentials to thousands of affected families. He also hosted relief camps at his residence with the support of Tejashwi Yadav.
Sacrifice for the Party
During protests against Nitish Kumar’s attempt to split RJD MLAs, Abdul Sattar was severely injured when his body caught fire while burning an effigy. He was admitted to PMCH Hospital, Patna, and remained in ICU for seven days.
Campaigns and Programs
- Jan Vishwas Rally (March 2024) – mobilized supporters with around 150 vehicles.
- Membership Drive (2025) – enrolled over 6000 workers by submitting 250 membership books.
- Maa-Bahan-Maan Yojana – conducted a door-to-door campaign and distributed 50,000 calendars.

Philanthropy and Social Work

Abdul Sattar resides in Gopalganj, Bihar. He is married and has three children:
