Jacob Mathew is an Indian senior journalist based in Delhi. He has had a long career since 1994 covering major political, crime, and sports events. Jacob Mathew has witnessed the fortunes of six Prime Ministers of India across nine general elections and reported on significant terror attacks and natural disasters.

Career
Jacob Mathew began his career in 1994 with the feature film "Tatva" and gained international exposure through the Indo-French TV award-winning series "Heritage of India." He has been associated with renowned national and international media organizations including Feature Film (Tattva), Duniya Vision (French TV), ANI-Reuters, CNN-IBN, News24, and India TV. Jacob Mathew has covered major political events, terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir until 2004, the Bhuj earthquake in Gujarat, and the terrorist attacks in Mumbai while serving on the Assignment Desk. He also served as Director of ISOMES (BAG Network), one of India’s top media institutes.
Sports Achievements
Jacob Mathew was a prolific sportsperson during his school days. His sporting accolades include a gold medal in the national school games in athletics held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. He represented Delhi in the inter-state school games in Cuttack, winning a bronze medal, and won a silver medal in the Inter Zone athletics meet in Jammu. Additionally, he earned a gold medal during a YMCA event.
Contribution Towards Humanity as a Journalist
Jacob Mathew has been a go-to person for media professionals in need. During his work in Kashmir, he played an instrumental role in providing assistance to needy families near the India-Pakistan border. He arranged help for a poor family displaced during a relocation drive and collaborated with NGOs to provide necessary amenities to poor and orphaned children. He also facilitated support from various government departments for the poor and helpless.
Accolades
Jacob Mathew has received several awards including the Atal Mithila Award in 2023, established in the name of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He was honored with the "Shaksiyat" award in 2022 for his contribution to media by the Governor of Odisha, the Indywood Excellence Award in 2017 for exemplary media contribution, and recognition from the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI).
