Sreeparna Mitra was born on 13 May 1977 in Howrah, India.
Education
She completed her postgraduate studies in Media Studies for Film and Television at the University of Calcutta from 2005 to 2007.
Career
Sreeparna Mitra began her professional journey with distinction, winning the Sarat Birth Centenary Award for her short stories Camerar Karsaji and Radio Chor. She has established herself as a significant voice in contemporary Bengali cinema, working as a screenwriter and dialogue writer for critically acclaimed films such as Aparajito (2022) and Master Anshuman (2023). Her work on Aparajito earned her the WBFJA Best Screenplay Award and the Best Screenplay Award at the Dhaka International Film Festival in 2023.
In addition to cinema, she has a prolific literary and journalistic career spanning over 15 years. Her prose has been featured in prestigious publications including the travelogue Panchapandaver Desh Panchmari in Desh Patrika (2010). She has contributed extensively to television, digital portals, and magazines. Currently, her mystery thriller "Jayati Sen Hatya Rahasya" and romantic comedy "Archismaner Biye" remain top-tier successes, ranking in the "Sahitya-r Sera 5" (Top 5 Literary Works) on the Aaro Ananda app for consecutive months and accumulating 53,000 views on the Akashvani YouTube channel.
