Manoj Kumar Jain is a Delhi-based BJP leader, nominated councillor in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and a long-time social worker. Active in public life for several decades, he combines grassroots political engagement with extensive social initiatives through organisations such as Sahyog Delhi, Tarun Mitra Parishad and Bhagwan Mahavir Deshna Foundation. His work ranges from disaster relief and public health campaigns to environmental drives, sanitation projects and Jain religious-cultural activities.

Born on 23 February 1969 in Delhi, he entered politics at a young age and later contested the 2003 Delhi Assembly elections from the Minto Road constituency as a BJP candidate. Over time, he chose to place social work at the centre of his public life, founding Sahyog Delhi in 2013 and deepening his involvement with community service and humanitarian causes.

Early Life and Education

Manoj Kumar Jain was born on 23 February 1969 in Delhi, India. He grew up in a family that valued nationalism, faith and social responsibility. His father, Shri Mahesh Kumar Jain, was associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and this environment brought Manoj into contact with public life at an early age.

His father Mahesh Kumar Jain is the founder of Ultrawalls (wallpaper manufacturing/import business) and a long-time contributor to RSS activities; this background influenced Manoj's early exposure to organisational life, social service and community engagement.

As a school student, he often accompanied elders to rallies, public meetings and campaigns. On many occasions he would take leave from school to sit in rickshaws, raise slogans and participate in election campaigns. These experiences led him to see politics not only as competition for power but also as a platform for service.

He completed his formal education up to the Intermediate level before devoting more time to business and social work, while gradually building his political career.

Family Life

On 23 January 1992, Manoj Kumar Jain married Deepali Jain, daughter of well-known Congress leader and senior advocate Shri Ram Narayan Gupta from Delhi. Shri Ram Narayan Gupta has also served as a metropolitan councillor, adding to the family’s connection with civic affairs and public responsibilities.

The couple has three daughters. All three daughters are married and settled in reputed families in Delhi. Manoj Kumar Jain is known to place importance on family bonds and traditional values alongside his public life.

This business experience has influenced his approach to public work. When designing relief programmes, livelihood support or training initiatives, he often draws on his understanding of how families and small businesses manage risk, income and opportunity.

Political Career

Manoj Kumar Jain formally entered electoral politics through the Bharatiya Janata Party in Delhi.

In the 2003 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections, he contested from the Minto Road constituency as one of the youngest BJP candidates. Although he did not win the seat, the experience strengthened his resolve to stay connected with ordinary citizens and to treat politics as a means of service.

Over the years, he has remained active in the Delhi BJP, taking part in organisational campaigns, outreach programmes and issue-based movements. His colleagues and supporters often describe him as a leader who prefers fieldwork, direct interaction and problem solving over purely symbolic politics.

Later, he was nominated as a councillor in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (Central Zone). In this role, he has engaged with local issues such as sanitation, cleanliness of public spaces, condition of public toilets, public health concerns and support for vulnerable groups within the municipal area.

  • Offered assistance to students from low-income backgrounds.

The facility includes around forty-two rooms and aims to provide a safe, dignified and comfortable environment for senior citizens, with a focus on both physical care and emotional well-being.

Disaster Relief and Humanitarian Efforts

Over the years, Manoj Kumar Jain has participated in and led various relief operations in disaster-affected regions. After the 2001 Gujarat earthquake, he worked with allied organisations to raise funds in Delhi and contribute towards rebuilding homes for affected families.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he coordinated teams for food distribution, ration supply and essential items across affected localities. Many of these efforts were carried out on a daily basis during critical phases of the crisis, with volunteers from Sahyog Delhi and partner groups.

  • Specific focus on the poor state of women’s public toilets and the need for improved maintenance and safety.
  • Public outreach under the theme CleanDelhiToilets, aiming to build citizen pressure for better facilities.
  • Campaigns against single-use plastic and for improved solid waste management.

Yamuna Cleaning and Environmental Work

He has contributed to efforts to clean stretches of the Yamuna backwater from Rajghat to Vijay Ghat, combining symbolic action, physical cleaning drives and public awareness. These initiatives reflect his emphasis on long-term, sustainable solutions over one-time events.

In addition, he has taken part in multiple tree plantation programmes and water conservation campaigns, and has helped in distributing food and relief materials to drought-affected regions, including parts of Kumbhalgarh in Rajasthan.

Namo Tea Stall and Public Events

In 2014, following the historic Lok Sabha victory of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Manoj Kumar Jain helped organise a large public event on Ashoka Road in Delhi, popularly known as the Namo Tea Stall. More than thirty thousand people are reported to have attended this celebration, where tea was served as a gesture of thanks and unity.

At the party headquarters, he was also involved in setting up a congratulatory message wall, where citizens and party workers could write greetings and notes.

Campaign Against Telemarketing and Spam Calls

On 16 July 2024, he addressed a written representation to the Union Minister for Communications, highlighting the growing problem of spam calls and misuse of telemarketing, which was affecting ordinary mobile users and senior citizens alike.

Subsequently, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India introduced new guidelines, effective from 1 September 2024, to tighten controls over unsolicited communications. His initiative formed part of a wider public demand for stronger regulation in this area.

Women’s Health and Public Toilets

Manoj Kumar Jain has repeatedly raised concerns about the condition of women’s public toilets in Delhi, drawing attention to issues of hygiene, safety and dignity. Through on-ground visits, documentation and public campaigns, he has sought improved maintenance and policy attention to this neglected aspect of urban infrastructure.

Religious and Cultural Initiatives

Bhagwan Mahavir Deshna Foundation

Manoj Kumar Jain serves as a Director in Bhagwan Mahavir Deshna Foundation, which works to spread the teachings of Lord Mahavir and Jain philosophy in contemporary society.

The Foundation produced the devotional video film Mera Namokar, in which former President of India Ram Nath Kovind, along with his family, chants the Namokar Mantra together. The film and its associated event, held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, received wide coverage across national and regional media platforms and was regarded as a historic moment for both the Jain community and the devotional film space.

Akhil Bharatvarshiya Digambar Jain Parishad

For several years, he has been associated with the Akhil Bharatvarshiya Digambar (ABD) Jain Parishad, serving as General Secretary for the Delhi unit.

In this role, he has:

  • Successfully organised over eight large-scale religious conferences and community gatherings, each attended by thousands of students and participants from across regions.
  • Visited Jain temples in Delhi and other regions to explain worship practices and the relevance of religious discipline.
  • Worked to take the messages of Lord Mahavir to diverse sections of society, beyond traditional community boundaries.

Community Introduction Conferences

Under the banner of Digambar Jain organisations, he has coordinated multiple introduction conferences for marriageable boys and girls, aimed at supporting families in the process of finding suitable alliances while strengthening community unity and social networks.

Media Coverage

Manoj Kumar Jain’s work has appeared in various news reports, brand stories and digital features, especially in connection with Jain religious initiatives and social campaigns.

Notable coverage includes:

  • Press release and articles on the devotional video film Mera Namokar, produced by Bhagwan Mahavir Deshna Foundation, in which former President Ram Nath Kovind and his family chant the Namokar Mantra together for the first time in a devotional film format. This story has been carried by multiple portals and news syndications, including PTI-based and national platforms.
  • A Hindustan Times brand story titled Ram Nath Kovind makes history chanting Namokar Mantra with family in special video, describing the film, the event at Bharat Mandapam and the role of the Foundation.
  • Coverage of his Diwali greetings and reflections on the Ram Temple inauguration, featured on several digital news platforms and highlighting his emphasis on positivity, unity and cultural pride.

These articles present him as both a social worker and an organiser of religious-cultural events with national visibility.

Social Philosophy

For Manoj Kumar Jain, public service is not a profession but a way of life. He often expresses the view that real success lies in being remembered as someone who served society rather than as someone who accumulated positions.

His long-term goal is to inspire citizens, especially young people, to take up social responsibility, community work and nation-building in their own areas. He supports the idea of a clean, strong and prosperous India, built on the combined efforts of government, organisations and citizens.
