Nikhil Namit is an Indian filmmaker, film producer, and entrepreneur from Aurangabad, Maharashtra.   

Beyond cinema, he has built a diversified business portfolio spanning petroleum, fashion retail, music, infrastructure, and startup investments, establishing himself as one of the emerging entrepreneurial figures in India’s entertainment and business ecosystem.

Nikhil Namit was born on 28 April in a small village in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, and raised in Kolhapur. His grandparents were farmers, and his parents later became professors at the University of Mumbai, creating a family background that combined academic discipline with a strong work ethic.

Although his upbringing was grounded in education, he developed an early fascination with creativity, storytelling, and cinema, often exploring ideas that merged logic and imagination — an approach that would later shape his career as a filmmaker and entrepreneur.

Nikhil Namit completed his schooling at St. Xavier’s High School, Kolhapur, and got his Engineering degree from Atharva College of Engineering, Mumbai. He later pursued professional training in Film Direction and Production at the New York Film Academy, Los Angeles (USA), where he honed his craft in visual storytelling and creative execution.

 

Further expanding his academic horizon, he studied at the London School of Business Administration (United Kingdom), developing a global perspective on creative leadership and financial strategy. In 2008, Nikhil Namit launched Urja Petroleum, an Indian Oil fuel station near Aurangabad.

Through hands-on learning and strategic execution, he transformed it into one of the top-performing retail fuel businesses in the region.   

Building on its success, he later started Urja Transport, a logistics venture managing large-scale fuel and goods transportation operations across Maharashtra.

In 2013, Nikhil Namit founded NS Retails, which operates Being Human Clothing franchise stores across major Indian cities including Pune, Nagpur, Indore, and Surat.   

Under his leadership, the venture quickly scaled to nine high-performing outlets, consistently ranking among the top sales contributors in the brand’s national network. 

Known for operational excellence, customer engagement, and sustained profitability, NS Retails became one of the most successful franchise operations in India’s premium fashion segment.

During the pandemic, Nikhil Namit diversified into the music industry by establishing Naadkhula Music, a Marathi label dedicated to discovering and promoting regional talent.   

Under his leadership, the label’s releases — including Mi Naadkhula and Aapli Yaari — garnered over 100 million views and built a strong digital identity for Marathi music. 

Today, its YouTube channel boasts over 10 million subscribers, positioning Naadkhula Music among the most influential regional labels in India.

 

Through his Dubai-based enterprise NNKK Global, Nikhil Namit is building the foundation for a new era of cross-industry innovation. The company currently operates across:

Outside of work, Nikhil enjoys traveling, exploring world cultures, fitness, and cinema, which he considers sources of creative renewal and perspective. Known for his intense work ethic, he typically sleeps only 4–5 hours a day, maintaining a demanding schedule driven by focus and discipline.
