Dr Satish Durgesh is a highly experienced Surgical Gastroenterologist, GI Oncosurgeon and advanced laparoscopic surgeon. He serves as Lead Consultant for Surgical Gastroenterology, GI Oncosurgery and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at the Mysore Institute of Gastroenterology, Karnataka.   • Performed Karnataka’s first laparoscopic management of corrosive esophageal injuries.
  • Performed Mysore’s first laparoscopic liver resection.
  • Pioneered minimally invasive and robotic approaches for colorectal, esophageal and stomach cancers in the region.
  • Performed complex and rare procedures such as minimally invasive hepatopancreatoduodenectomy, laparoscopic Whipple’s procedure, ALPPS and resections involving the inferior vena cava.
  • Led outreach programmes to provide low-cost laparoscopic GI cancer surgery in rural Mysore district.
  • Successfully managed simultaneous multiorgan resections (rectum, liver, lungs) for metastatic disease and advanced vascular/thrombotic emergencies (SMA thrombosis) using ICG and NIR imaging.
