October is the tenth month of the Gregorian calendar and has 31 days. In the Northern Hemisphere, it brings **autumn colors and festivals**, while in the Southern Hemisphere, it marks **spring’s midpoint**.
The name comes from **octo**, Latin for "eight", as it was the eighth month in the Roman calendar. Festivals during October include **Halloween**, **Dussehra**, **Diwali (sometimes)**, and **World Teachers’ Day**.
