Tseten Chombay (born 15 April 1983) is an Indian politician, media entrepreneur, social leader, and Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing the 5-Kalaktang ST Assembly Constituency in Arunachal Pradesh. He is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Northeast Today, an English news magazine, and has held several leadership positions in student organizations, non-governmental organizations, cultural bodies, and political organizations.

He has been actively involved in youth leadership, media, tourism promotion, Buddhist affairs, and public service for more than two decades.

Early Life and Education

Tseten Chombay was born on 15 April 1983 in Arunachal Pradesh, India, to Mr. Goleng. He belongs to the Monpa Scheduled Tribe community and follows Buddhism.

He completed his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics and later obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communications from the University of Mumbai.

Career

Tseten Chombay began his public life through student leadership while studying in Mumbai. Over the years, he expanded his work into media, social service, tourism promotion, cultural development, and politics.

He has served numerous organizations in leadership roles and has contributed to the promotion of Arunachal Pradesh's culture, tourism, youth empowerment, and Buddhist heritage.

In 2024, he was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the 5-Kalaktang ST Assembly Constituency.

Tseten Chombay is the CEO and Chairman & Managing Director of Northeast Today, an English-language news magazine focusing on news, governance, business, tourism, development, culture, and public affairs across Northeast India.

Under his leadership, the publication has expanded its coverage and contributed to promoting the socio-economic development and positive image of the northeastern states.

Social and Cultural Contributions

Throughout his career, Tseten Chombay has actively promoted youth development, tourism, cultural preservation, and Buddhist heritage.

As Festival Director of the Tawang Festival for over a decade, he played an important role in promoting Arunachal Pradesh as a tourism destination while showcasing its indigenous traditions, culture, and heritage.

He has also contributed to the activities of the International Buddhist Confederation and Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch in promoting Buddhist values and cultural exchange.

Political Career

Tseten Chombay has been associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) through various organizational responsibilities.
