SuVi Eye Hospital & LASIK Laser Centre is a 25-bed, technology-driven eye institute in Kota, Rajasthan, co-founded by Dr. Suresh Kumar Pandey and Dr. Vidushi Sharma on 5 February 2006. Beginning in a small rented space with five beds, the centre now serves patients from across India and abroad, combining ethical practice with advanced microsurgery and compassionate care.

About Dr. Suresh Kumar Pandey

Dr. Suresh Kumar Pandey is a left-handed ophthalmic surgeon, author, cyclist and motivational speaker. Born in a humble family rooted in freedom-fighter heritage, he rose from rural Rajasthan to global recognition in ophthalmology. Early spiritual and nationalist influences came via RSS and Gayatri Pariwar. Despite financial hardship, he topped district merit lists, completed MBBS at Jabalpur, MS at PGIMER Chandigarh, and advanced research/clinical fellowships in the USA and Australia.

Early Life and Inspirations

Heritage of patriotism from Pura, Ballia (UP) with family ties to freedom fighters including Chittu Pandey; grandfather Dr. Kamta Prasad Pandey trained in ophthalmic surgery at Kishan Lal Jalan Free Eye Hospital, Bhiwani (1937), influencing Dr. Pandey’s calling for eye care, service and nation-building.

Medical Journey

After MS from PGIMER (1997), he pursued research and clinical fellowships at MUSC (Charleston), John A. Moran Eye Center (University of Utah), and Sydney Eye Hospital, collaborating with pioneers Sir Harold Ridley and Dr. Charles Kelman. Returned to India in 2005 to establish SuVi Eye Hospital in Kota with the mission “Competent care with compassion”.

Dr. Pandey actively promotes eye-health awareness, anti-addiction campaigns, and youth inspiration through the series Cycling Ke Sath Sakaratmak Sandesh. He has provided free eye consultations to over one lakh coaching students in Kota.

Training and Conferences

Regular live surgical demonstrations and faculty roles at national and international meets including DOS, POS, MOS, GOS, APOS, ROS, and Video Cataracta International, sharing techniques in adult and pediatric cataract, IPCL, corneal grafting and LASIK.
